IMAGE DATA DECODING DEVICE AND IMAGE DATA DECODING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data decoding device and an image data decoding method for decoding image data with versatility for three-dimensional display.

SOLUTION: An image data decoding device decodes multimedia encoded data including multiple two-dimensional image data into image data for three-dimensional image display. The two-dimensional image data is data including image identification information for associating the image data with a viewing point. The multimedia encoded data is encoded data, independent from the two-dimensional image data, including three-dimensional image display control information containing the number of viewing points and viewing point information associating with the identification information. Image data decoding means is provided to the decoding device for decoding the multiple two-dimensional image data into image data of each viewing point to be displayed as a three-dimensional image according to the viewing point information inside the three-dimensional image display control information from the multimedia encoded data.
