The method involves aligning individual plastic pipes (21-24) in a composite pipe (20) approximately in a longitudinal direction. The individual neighboring plastic pipes are connected via a connection unit that is made of plastic material. A sheet material (25) is formed as the connection unit and welded on partial sections of a periphery of an outer surface of the extruded individual pipes in an output configuration. The pipes lie parallel to each other in the output configuration. A plastic melt film is applied in a connection region on the individual pipes. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a composite pipe from two plastic pipes.
