<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation unit capable of achieving a haptic effect in various electronic apparatuses including a touch screen type portable device, equipment for vehicles and a game console. <P>SOLUTION: A haptic device 30 includes a substrate 32, and the substrate 32 may be either a touch screen type glass plate or a flexible structure. A compound piezoelectric cell 34 is substantially transparent, that is, has at least 40% transparency. This substantially transparent compound piezoelectric cell 34 covers the substrate 32 or is disposed on the substrate 32, so that a user can touch the compound piezoelectric cell 34 while recognizing a touch screen.
