摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus detection device capable of reducing focusing time and improving focusing accuracy while disposing a wide-ranging field of view. <P>SOLUTION: The focus detection device of the present invention comprises first focus detection means for detecting a focus point by means of a phase difference detection method, second focus detection means for detecting a focus point by means of a contrast detection method, vignetting detection means for detecting vignetting quantity generated depending on a positional relation between a ranging field of view of the first focus detection means and light flux passing through an imaging lens, by use of output values of two images from the first focus detection means, and control means for controlling the first focus detection means to detect a focus point when the vignetting quantity detected on the vignetting detecting means is smaller than a predetermined value, and controlling the second focus detection means to detect a focus point when the vignetting quantity is greater than the predetermined value, thereby to perform a focusing operation of the imaging lens. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
