The implant (I) has multiple recesses (A1-A5, B1-B5, O) forming a geometrical pattern for determining location and position of the implant based on two-dimensional X-ray images of the implant and independent of fluoroscopy direction. The recesses are designed as cylindrical boreholes of reduced diameter. The cylindrical bore holes are formed as a blind hole and through-hole, respectively. The recesses are filled with material that exhibits X-ray attenuation coefficients deviating from X-ray attenuation coefficients of an implant base material.
