The device has a support comprising parallel or coaxial shaft (2) extending along a pivotal axis. An overload protection unit moves an attachment (1) i.e. drink holder, into a position that is different from use and/or non-usage positions of the attachment during an event of overload that occurs when force applied on the attachment exceeds predetermined force. The support and the protection unit are arranged such that a rotary bearing (3) of the support is moved away in axial direction of the shaft during the event of overload when the attachment is pivoted around the pivotal axis.
