PURPOSE: An animation authoring system and an animation authoring method are provided to accurately input the path and operation of an object by enabling a user to sketch using a simple input unit. CONSTITUTION: A plane path module(101) receives a plane path of an object on a reference plane. If a user draws a gesture about the operation of the object on an operation window, an operation window module(102) receives gesture data and a parameter. An analysis module(103) converts the gesture data into operation data corresponding to the stored operation data. An animation implementing unit(104) implements an animation according to an operation sequence.
