Disclosed is a player apparatus of stereovision video, which alleviates the sudden change in the amount of depth resulting from scene changes in stereovision video or switching from 2D to 3D, and reduces the burden on the eyes of a viewer. The player apparatus is provided with a depth-amount storage unit that can store amounts of depth of a plurality of frames of stereovision video, and a video plane. When a request to change the dimension of the video from 2D to 3D or a request to switch from one 3D video scene to another 3D video scene is received, the depth-amount storage unit retains the amount of depth of the frame before the switching and the amounts of depth of a plurality of frames including at least the frame of the switching destination, and either controls the switching timing or adjusts the amount of depth of the switching destination frame, in accordance with the type of switching requested, so as to achieve natural switching such that the sudden change in the amount of depth is alleviated.
