<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric ceramic composition exhibiting good characteristics even in the case when a dielectric layer is made thin, and a ceramic electronic component in which the dielectric ceramic composition is applied to a dielectric layer. <P>SOLUTION: A dielectric ceramic composition includes: BaTiO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>; with respect to 100 moles of BaTiO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>, 0.9 to 2.0 moles of an oxide of RA in terms of RA<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>, where RA is at least one selected from Dy, Gd and Tb; 0.3 to 2.0 moles of an oxide of RB in terms of RB<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>, where RB is at least one selected from Ho and Y; 0.75 to 2.5 moles of an oxide of Yb in terms of Yb<SB POS="POST">2</SB>O<SB POS="POST">3</SB>; and 0.5 to 2.0 moles of an oxide of Mg in terms of Mg, and when contents of oxide of RA, oxide of RB and oxide of Yb with respect to 100 moles of BaTiO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>are defined as (α), (β) and (γ), respectively, (α), (β) and (γ) satisfy relations of 0.66≤α/β≤3.0 and 0.8≤(α+β)/γ≤2.4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
