<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve slidability of wedge members of a connecting apparatus of a vehicle seat, by using a material superior in environmental performance. <P>SOLUTION: This connecting apparatus (a reclining apparatus 4) of the vehicle seat includes an internal teeth member 10 having an internal gear 11, an external teeth member 20 having an external gear 21 installed on the internal teeth member 10 so as to relatively rotate while changing a meshing position along an inner peripheral tooth surface of the internal gear 11, a pair of wedge members 40A and 40B arranged in a clearance between both members 10 and 20 and locking relative rotation of both members 10 and 20 by being pushed in the clearance by sliding in a both-sandwiching shape by energizing force of a ring spring 50, and an operation shaft 64 for moving the external gear 21 in the direction for changing the meshing position to the internal gear 11 by moving the wedge members 40A and 40B in the direction against the energizing force of the ring spring 50.
