<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitter capable of avoiding a problem of cost or compatibility in determining whether or not the MHL standard is met. <P>SOLUTION: A source device 200 as a data transmitter comprises a control part 206 which acquires E-EDID via an interface of MHL standard of the source device 200, the E-EDID being stored in a EDID ROM 310 of a sink device 300 as a data receiver operating via an interface of HDMI standard and indicating whether or not the sink device 300 can be compliant with the interface of MHL standard, and the sink device 200 operating via the HDMI of the sink device 300 and the interface of MHL standard, and determines based on the acquired E-EDID whether or not the sink device 300 is compliant with the interface of MHL standard. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
