<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shock due to a sudden locking of a one way clutch (OWC) when an engine is restarted because a restarting request is made during vehicle deceleration by an idling stop in vehicle deceleration. <P>SOLUTION: When an idling stop request is made in a predetermined deceleration region where a vehicle in deceleration may be stopped, an OWC parallel clutch engaging control which engages an OWC 34 and a parallel-arranged OWC parallel clutch B1 in a speed change gear mechanism 15 is executed. Thereby, when an engine is restarted because a restarting request is made during vehicle deceleration by an idling stop, the OWC 34 is kept restrained in advance so as not run idle through the OWC parallel clutch engaging control.
