PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further save power without degrading image quality for a print job that has a plurality of pages, in a fixing control (prior art) performed by setting a target temperature for each page according to a difference in dither.

SOLUTION: A fixing temperature specifying section 119 specifies a fixing temperature target value (described in "dither-fixing temperature correspondence table") that achieves power saving corresponding to a dither to be used, the dither selected by an intermediate data holding section 113 based on a drawing condition such as a drawing command obtained by analyzing print data. Based on the target value and an energy saving level determined by the energy saving determining section 118 as being specified by a user, pages for which fixing temperature target values identical to or close to one another are lumped together in order to restrain changes in fixing temperature target value from occurring among pages. A page sort processing section 112 sorts pages to be printed and output in the descending order of temperature. The print output is carried out in the order, and thereby the consumption power is further reduced.
