The tube (1) has a coupling surface for coupling an electromechanical ultrasonic transducer (6), where the coupling surface is formed as a component of a coupling body (4) that is embedded partly in a wall (2) of the measuring tube. Sound radiation impedance of the isotropic linking body lies between the sound radiation impedance of the ultrasonic transducer and the measuring tube wall. The measuring tube is made of plastic, and the coupling body is made of metal, ceramic, glass or glass ceramic. A smooth toothed boundary face of the coupling body is formed opposite to the coupling surface. The ultrasonic transducer is a piezoceramic ultrasonic transducer. An independent claim is also included for an ultrasound flowmeter comprising evaluation electronics.
