PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage medium using an organic dyestuff material capable of recording/reproducing with a light having a wavelength of 620 nm or less and a recording method and a recording device using the same.

SOLUTION: Due to an influence of absorption spectroscopic characteristics of an ordinal organic dyestuff material, with a light having a wavelength of 620 nm or less, the optical absorptance is largely reduced to result in a reduction of recording sensitivity. Since An "L→H" organic dye recording material whose reflectance in a recorded part (recording mark) increases more than that of a non-recorded part is adopted, the recording mark is formed using discoloration action by separation of electron coupling to eliminate a necessity of substrate deformation, thereby improving the recording sensitivity.
