<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of coating an aluminum titanate-based catalyst carrier capable of simultaneously maintaining both a low thermal expansion coefficient and a high ventilation property of the aluminum titanate-based catalyst carrier having a catalyst coating film or a catalyst priming coating film formed thereon. <P>SOLUTION: This method of coating an aluminum titanate-based catalyst carrier is used for coating a porous aluminum titanate-based catalyst carrier containing magnesium with a barrier coating film, and includes steps of: coating the catalyst carrier with a liquid mixture containing a liquid vehicle, a crosslinking agent and a thermally crosslinkable polymer; and heating the catalyst carrier coated with the liquid mixture to remove the liquid vehicle from the liquid mixture and crosslink the thermally crosslinkable polymer; and coating the catalyst carrier with a barrier coating film containing the crosslinked thermally crosslinkable polymer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
