<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable sheet folding of excellent alignment accuracy without being affected by the thickness or the curl of a sheet even in a multiple folding for folding a plurality of superposed sheets. <P>SOLUTION: Fore ends of sheets to be conveyed by a conveying roller pair are abutted on a first stopper 23 to regulate the movement in the sheet conveying direction. The plurality of regulated sheets are guided to nips of folding roller pairs 21a, 21b by a movable guide member 60. After the fore end of the first sheet passes through the movable guide member 60, the movable guide member 60 is moved in the direction in which the conveying space H1 is expanded. The movable guide member 60 is held at the position H2 at which the movable guide member 60 is moved in the expanding direction until the conveyance of the objective sheets for folding is completed. The movable guide member 60 is driven at the point of time when conveyance of the plurality of sheets is completed, the plurality of sheets in the regulated state are moved in the direction in which the conveying space is narrowed, and deflection parts of the sheets are guided to the nip of the folding roller pairs 21a, 21b to execute the folding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
