<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a front screen, installed in a sand basin in a sewage treatment facility, to scrape captured impurities automatically. <P>SOLUTION: A front screen comprises a front screen body S having prescribed openings for capturing flowing impurities and a lifting mechanism for lifting the front screen body S. When water quantity is small such as during a no-precipitation period, the front screen body S is lifted in order to allow captured impurities to flow to a rear screen 4 side.
