Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to determining a likelihood of possible retinopathy of prematurity and alerting a caregiver of such likelihood. According to certain embodiments, an apparatus for determining a risk of retinopathy of prematurity in a patient may include a processing unit. The processing unit is configured to determine whether an oxygen saturation level of the patient extends beyond an oxygen saturation threshold, determine an extent that the oxygen saturation level of the patient extends beyond the oxygen saturation threshold, and trigger an alarm when the extent that the oxygen saturation level of the patient extends beyond the oxygen saturation threshold exceeds a threshold at which the patient may be at risk of developing retinopathy of prematurity. The apparatus may also include a display unit configured to present the alarm in response to the trigger from the processing unit. |
