Disclosed is a radioactive substance storage container (100) which comprises: a trunk main body (1) and a cover (10), each having a hermetically sealing structure; and a basket (5) that is contained in the trunk main body (1) and holds a fuel assembly. The basket (5) is configured so as to contain a neutron shielding material. In addition to containing the neutron shielding material, the radioactive substance storage container (100) comprises a subcritical performance reinforcing member (20) between the inner circumferential surface of the trunk main body (1) and the outer circumferential surface of the basket (5).
