<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road survey method and a road linear information generation method which enable an efficient survey of a curve section of a road while ensuring surveying accuracy, in the survey of the curve section. <P>SOLUTION: In a survey of a curve section 1a of a road 1, a curvature radius R of the curve section 1a is measured on a map 8. A survey pitch P is selected between an upper limit value Pu and a lower limit value Pd of the survey pitch P on the basis of a reference table 9 which contains the upper limit value Pu and the lower limit value Pd defined according to the curvature radius R.
