<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of achieving both of cost saving and reduction of power consumption using a light source section which performs a partial light emitting operation when displaying an image. <P>SOLUTION: A partial drive processing section 42 performs an RGB/RGBZ conversion processing based on an image signal D1 corresponding to three colors of R, G and B to generate pixel signals corresponding to four colors of R, G, B and Z. Based on pixel signals D3r, D3 g and D3b corresponding to the three colors of R, G and B in pixel signals corresponding to the four colors, light emission pattern signals BL1 are generated. Further based on the image signal D1 and the light emission pattern signals BL1, partial driving original signals D4 corresponding to the three colors of R, G and B are generated. An RGB/RGBZ conversion processing is made on the partial driving original signals D4 corresponding to the three colors; thereby partial driving image signals D5 corresponding to the four colors of R, G, B and Z are generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
