<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical connection element and an optical connection member in which a highly accurate coating removal part can be easily molded at a low cost and the coating removal part can be measured and inspected. <P>SOLUTION: An optical connector 100 is used when one first glass fiber 13 of a coated optical fiber 11 and the other second glass fiber 15 are abutted and connected to each other. This connector includes a tip hole part 21 which is formed by a plastic 19 and has the first glass fiber 13 and the second glass fiber 15 housed therein; and a rear end hole part which is communicated with the tip hole part 21 and has the coated optical fiber 11 housed therein. At the end surface part 25 facing a rear end hole part 23 of the tip hole part 21, a coating removal part 31 is formed, which removes the coating from the tip 27 part of the coated optical fiber 11 by an insertion force of the coated optical fiber 11 from the rear end hole part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
