<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing apparatus capable of reducing conveyance failure of a medium after fixing. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing apparatus comprises a foam generation device 2051 for generating foamy fixer, an application roller 2052a for supplying the foamy fixer to a nip portion and applying the foamy fixer onto a surface of recording paper, a pressure roller 2052b pressed against the application roller, an opening/closing blade 2054 provided in vicinity of the pressure roller and for changing a clearance to the pressure roller, and a film thickness control device 2056 for controlling the opening/closing blade in such a manner that the foamy fixer transferred from the application roller to the pressure roller is temporarily stored while the recording paper is not fed, and the foamy fixer stored is applied onto the recording paper when the recording paper is fed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
