A sealing method for sealing the gap between an opening section passing through the thickness direction of a wall, and an insertion member inserted into the opening section, is provided with: an elastic layer; an adhesive layer laminated on the surface of the elastic layer; and a separate sheet laminated on the surface of the adhesive layer, and is provided with: a seal member preparing step for preparing a seal member in which a through hole into which the insertion member is inserted is formed in the direction in which the adhesive layer and the separate sheet are laminated; an inserting step for inserting the insertion member into the through hole so as to come into contact with the seal member, and abutting the separate sheet on the wall; and an attaching step for attaching the seal member to the insertion member and the wall while separating the separate sheet from the adhesive layer.
