<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal cap preventing a liner from falling out when a bottle is opened and enable smooth bottle opening and liner insertion, and to provide a bottle with the cap. <P>SOLUTION: The metal cap 1 includes a top plate portion 2 disposed at the upper part, and the cylindrical portion 3 substantially hanging from the peripheral edge of the top plate portion, and the mouth portion of a bottle is tightly closed after a liner 9 is inserted into the inner surface of the top plate portion in a non-adhesion state. The cylindrical portion has a knurl slit 8 opened in a slit shape circumferentially in a vicinity of the top plate portion, and releasing the internal pressure when the bottle is opened, and the upper projection portion 8a and the lower projection portion 8b formed by bending the upper opening end and the lower opening end of the knurl slit 8 radially inward of the cylindrical portion.
