<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical laminate which has a structure having superior anti-glare property and black tone in a bright room and capable of achieving high dark room contrast and excels in manufacturing stability, and a method for manufacturing the optical laminate, and further to provide a polarizer and a display device which are equipped with the optical laminate. <P>SOLUTION: An optical laminate is formed by laminating an optical functional layer on a translucent substrate. The optical functional layer includes a first phase containing relatively many resin components, a second phase containing relatively many inorganic components, and fine particles.
