<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of glass particles as well as to reliably prevent breakage of a glass substrate due to deflection and an improper temperature distribution whether the glass substrate is tempered or not, by properly specifying surface properties of boundary surfaces connecting to the front and rear surfaces of the glass substrate and the edge surface thereof, and allowing the boundary surfaces to satisfy the specified properties. <P>SOLUTION: A chamfered surface 4 is formed on at least one of boundary sections between each of the front surface 2a and the rear surface 2b of a glass substrate 1, and the edge surface 3 thereof between the outer circumferential ends of the both surfaces 2a, 2b, and the root-mean-square roughness Rq of the chamfered surface 4 is set to 0.3 μm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
