PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a reconstructed image having controllable graininess.

SOLUTION: The X-ray computed tomography apparatus includes: an X-ray tube 101 configured to generate X-rays; an X-ray detector 103 configured to detect the X-rays transmitted through a subject and to generate projection data; a rotating mechanism 102 supporting the X-ray tube rotatably around the subject together with the X-ray detector; and a reconstruction processing part 118 for reconstructing a clinical image based on the projection data. A noise image is combined with the clinical image by an image composition processing part 122 to form a final image.
