<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface device for accessing to the electronic activity of a tissue network. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a mixed micro-fluidic multi-electrode grid array (MEGA) device 10 suitable for holding a tissue slice 6 and for recording and/or stimulating neuron cells from the tissue slice 6. The MEGA device 10 comprises: at least a top substrate in the form of a grid comprising at least an electrical and/or optical multi-electrode array; and a first bottom substrate in the form of a stack formed of a grid 1 and a backbone 2. In the device, the grid 1 comprises an electrical and/or optical multi-electrode array; and the backbone 2 comprises a micro-fluidic perfusion system and the first bottom substrate which is located under the grid 1. Furthermore, the MEGA device 10 comprises a means for pressing and positioning first and second substrates to each other and adhering a tissue slice and cell culture between the two substrates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
