The basket (1) has an overcover (6) penetrated from a wire (4) supporting a basket unit (2). The overcover comprises a coupling for a basket handle (8) at a proximal end section of the overcover. The basket handle is fixedly connected with the basket unit. An adjusting device i.e. shifter (12), adjusts an active position of the basket unit, and is connected with an endoscope. The overcover comprises a flexible protective cover (18) and a rigid sleeve section. The adjusting device is engaged with the sleeve section, and the handle comprises a basket extension with a collet (10).
