Provided is an air blowing unit for a vehicle such that there is adopted an air back-flow prevention means for preventing the flow of air which flows back through a gap between the bottom surface of an impeller and the upper surface of a motor flange, that in spite of the above, the dimensions of this gap are maintained in an optimal manner, that moreover, restrictions are imposed on the generation of noise and the stagnation of moisture, and that furthermore, the configuration of the air blowing unit is suitable for raising air pressure in a scroll case. A protrusion (20) is protuberantly formed as an air back-flow prevention means inside a second wall section (17) that is located on the opposite side to a first wall section (16) wherein there is formed an air suction port (5) of the case (4) of the air blowing unit (1) for the vehicle. This protrusion (20) is located at a position radially outward from an impeller (2) in such a way that there is formed a predetermined gap between the protrusion (20) and the radially outer end of the impeller (2). Furthermore, the protrusion surface opposite to the impeller (2) is an inclined surface (20a) which is set in such a way as to be parallel to the flow of air (50) that moves into an air blowing path (15) from the impeller (2).
