<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butanol production method by which the saccharification of cellulose and the production of butanol can be performed only with Clostridium bacterium by utilizing the different properties of the Clostridium bacterium. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the butanol from a cellulose substrate by the mixed culture of the Clostridium bacterium includes a process for saccharifying the cellulose substrate with the Clostridium bacterium having a cellulose-assimilating ability and a process for producing the butanol with Clostridium bacterium having a butanol-producing ability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
