<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for a piston internal combustion engine by which balanced durable life of all piston rings is achieved in a simple and inexpensive method and output loss is minimized. <P>SOLUTION: In the piston internal combustion engine defining an operation space (5) and having a piston (2) moving in a cylinder liner (3), a gap (13) between the piston and the cylinder liner is covered with a piston ring package (9) having piston rings (6, 7, 8), the piston rings are arranged in the piston ring grooves (10, 11, 12) of the piston, in the respective piston rings (6, 7) which are exposed to the gas from the operation space, in which the gaps are gas-tightly sealed by the piston ring (8) spaced apart most from the operation space, and which are arranged ahead of the piston ring (8) spaced apart most from the operation space, the control of leakage is allowed, the pressure of leaking gas is reduced by the expansion in the expansion space (17) prior to reaching to the piston ring (8), great reduction of the output loss is achieved, and the sufficiently balanced service life of the piston rings is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
