<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image quality deterioration of an image to be taken, while maintaining a focus detection accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A digital camera comprises: an image pickup device including a first pixel row including a plurality of first pixels that outputs a first signal for generating an image data by imaging a subject via a photographic optical system, and a second pixel row including a plurality of second pixels that outputs a second signal for detecting a focus adjustment state of the photographic optical system according to a pupil division phase difference system; and output control means for controlling an output operation from the image pickup device such that, when signals of the pixel rows from the image pickup device are mixed and output, or when the pixel rows are thinned and output, the second pixel rows and some of the first pixel rows arranged in a predetermined range from the second pixel rows are prevented from being mixed or thinned to be output, while the others of the first pixel rows arranged out of the predetermined range are mixed and thinned to be output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
