<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively producing a high purity 1-substituted-4-carbamoyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-one derivative in high yield in a simple and inexpensive process. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a 1-substituted-4-carbamoyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-one expressed by formula (I) comprises allowing a 1-substituted-1,2,4-triazol-5-one derivative to react with an alkali metal hydroxide in the presence of a quaternary ammonium salt or a phosphonium salt in an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent while removing byproduct water by azeotropic distillation, followed by adding carbamoyl chlorides to the obtained reaction mixture to react. In the formula, X represents a halogen atom or a lower alkyl group; Y represents a halogen atom; R represents a lower alkyl group; and n and m are integers of 0 to 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
