<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of shortening the start-up time regardless of the number of sheets to be printed. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a fixing section 60 for fixing a toner image formed on a sheet T; a registration roller pair 34 for adjusting the timing to supply the sheet T to the fixing section 60; a temperature detection section 63 for detecting the temperature of a prescribed part of a heating rotator 61 included in the fixing section 60; and a timing control section. At start-up of the image forming apparatus, the timing control section can transition to a first mode for performing control to supply the first sheet T to the fixing section 60 when the temperature detected by the temperature detection part 63 exceeds a first temperature or to a second mode for performing control to supply the first sheet T to the fixing part 60 when the temperature exceeds a second temperature which is lower than the first temperature. The timing control section transitions to the first mode when the number of sheets T to be printed exceeds a prescribed number and transitions to the second mode when the number is below the prescribed number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
