Disclosed is a groupware system capable of resolving the problem of information being missed by a reader, as well as allowing a plurality of users to simultaneously view and write to a single document, inputting data into specified document fields in a single operation, and easily managing the progress of work requests of other users. The groupware system comprises a server, a telecommunications line, and a client terminal. The server further comprises a document creation means, a means for writing to each page of a document, a means for storing the creation dates of documents and fields, a user information management means, a means for storing a read/unread history of documents and fields for each user, a means for providing documents in a manner that can be viewed in a web browser, and a database that stores document-related information. The server further comprises a means for highlighting an updated field when a user first accesses an updated document.
