The pipe closing device (1) has a closing plug (10) that is axially inserted in the mouth of a pipe (2). The closing plug has spreading elements (27), particularly in the form of a disk packet (29) with leaf spring-like disks (28). The disks are extended transverse to a central, axial supporting element (21) of the closing plug. The spreading elements, particularly in the form of disks, are axially supported for the supporting element.
