The system has a receiver firmly integratable into a vehicle (1) and for receiving authorization data, and a supply device for providing the data that are comprised of time data, number of engine start and/or maximum speed. A control device is attached to the receiver, and controls access authorization and/or driving authorization for the vehicle. The supply device is integrated in a mobile communication apparatus i.e. mobile telephone (2), or a data processing apparatus, and a data carrier i.e. chip card (3), is physically independent of the vehicle and the communication apparatus. The data processing apparatus is formed as a personal computer and a laptop. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling access authorization and/or driving authorization for a vehicle.
