摘要 <p>The inventions relate to the electrode industry and, in particular, to methods for producing graphite materials by the calcination of loose carbon materials. In the method, which comprises loading the material into an electrocalcinator, passing the material through wide and narrow zones of the electrocalcinator while ensuring that said material is mixed and is simultaneously heated, and discharging the finished product, the calcination of the material is carried out by consecutively passing said material through zones of low-potential and high-potential heating. The electrocalcinator comprises a cylindrical lined shaft having an electrically neutral restrictor in the upper part, upper and lower electrodes connected to an electric power supply circuit, loading and discharging devices, and a means for cooling the finished product. At least one restrictor which is connected to the electric power supply circuit and is intended for creating a zone of low-potential heating is arranged in the shaft below the electrically neutral restrictor. The consumption of electric power on heating the material is reduced by dividing the inter-electrode space into separate low-potential zones, in which it is easier to begin heating the material, and the creation of unauthorized current passage channels is prevented, which increases the quality of the product and reduces the specific consumption of electric power on the production of graphite materials, in particular thermoanthracite.</p>
