The method involves supplying and controlling a gas burner with gas by a gas valve in small power range and large power range, where only one of the power ranges is available at any point in time. A power is preset minimum power to maximum power at the gas burner in each of the power ranges. An independent claim is also included for a gas hob for the execution of a controlling method.
