<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly pass a communication cable. <P>SOLUTION: A cable passing tool A is provided with a runner member 1 inserted into a spiral cable hanger 14 hung in an aerial cable laid between telegraph poles 15, a traction member 2 which is installed at an outer lower part of the spiral cable hanger 14 by making it face the runner member 1 and can be pulled from the ground, and a rotary member 3 which is freely rotatably supported by the traction member 2, and in which notches 11 are formed at an outer periphery and a part of the outer periphery is inserted into the spiral cable hanger 14 through the notches 11. When a pulling rope 13 is installed in the traction member 2, the pulling rope 13 is pulled on the ground and the cable passing tool A is advanced, the spiral cable hanger 14 is passed between the runner member 1 and the traction member 2 and is smoothly led to the notches 11 of the rotary member 3.
