In a mobile system employing both Frequency Diversity (FDS) and Frequency Selective Scheduling (FSS), groups of Localised Virtual Resource Blocks (LVRBs) and Distributed Virtual Resource Blocks (DVRBs) are allocated to Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) comprising a fixed number of Resource Elements (REs) according to a bitmap, such that several inconsecutive LVRBs or DVRBs may be allocated to a User Equipment.
