<p>PURPOSE: A Shewanella variant strain is provided to effectively degrade cheap hexose and to improve efficiency of microorganism fuel cells. CONSTITUTION: A Shewanella variant strain metabolizes hexose under an anaerobic condition by introducing a foreign gene encoding hexose metabolic enzyme and hexose absorption enzyme into a Shewanella strain. The Shewanella stain is Shewanella oneidensis MR(ATCC 700550). The hexose is glucose, fructose, galactose, mannitol, sucrose, N-acetyl glucosamine, or cellubiose. The foreign gene encoding hexose absorption enzyme is glf(ZMO0366), sugar transporter(ZMO0293), glucose-galactose transporter(SO_2213.1), or glucose/galactose transporter(SO_3503).</p> |
