<p>The invention relates to a method for profiling the broad sides (3, 3') of a flat key, a key blank (1) being clamped in a clamping device (18) in such a way that the broad side (3, 3') of the key blank is exposed, guide grooves (4, 5) and variation grooves (6, 7) which are complementary to the longitudinal sectional profile of the cutter teeth (11, 11') being milled into the broad side (3, 3') by advance in the longitudinal direction of the key, in one work operation, using a milling cutter (8, 8') that has cutter teeth (11, 11') on its peripheral surface and rotates about a cutter shaft. To produce undercut grooves, it is proposed that the axis of the cutter shaft is inclined at an angle of inclination (.phi.) relative to the longitudinal center plane (2) of the key (1), ribs (14, 15, 16, 17) of the cutter teeth (11) producing an undercut guide wall (4', 5") using at least one rib (14, 15). The invention further relates to a flat key, and a lock cylinder having a supplemental tumbler formed by a wear protection pin.</p> |
