Handheld tube capper/decapper

A tube capper and decapper (50) and method of using the same. The tube capper (50) includes a handheld housing (54) that supports a one-dimensional array of spindles (56). Each spindle (56 a -56 h ) is shaped to receive a cap (58 a -58 h ). A drive mechanism rotates each spindle (56 a -56 h ) of the one-dimensional array in unison for capping or decapping a corresponding one-dimensional array of tubes (52 a -52 h ).
