<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the apparent performance of an acoustic apparatus by generating a sound signal from which a reproduced sound with a less sense of distortion is obtained even when the amplitude of the sound signal is considerably limited, and to enhance the capability of every apparatus for processing the sound signal, and generates a sound signal easily heard by ears of people by the similar method so as to enhance the sound quality of hearing-aids and recorders or the like. <P>SOLUTION: When the amplitude of sound signals excepting those whose frequency is a particular frequency or over is going to exceed a particular level, the amplitude limit circuit carries out amplitude limit by changing a bias so as to avoid the amplitude of the sound signals from exceeding the level.
