<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing propylene from ethylene and methanol and/or dimethyl ether in a good yield. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the propylene comprises contacting the ethylene with the methanol and/or the dimethyl ether in the presence of a catalyst, wherein an amount of the ethylene contained in a reaction mixture discharged from a reaction system is decreased when compared with an amount of the ethylene supplied to the reaction system and the propylene is obtained in a yield of 40 mol% or more based on a total of a mol number of the methanol supplied to the reaction system and two times the mol number of the dimethyl ether supplied thereto. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
