The appliance has a tub (1) for cleaning goods e.g. dishes and clothes, to be cleaned, and a tank (2) for intermediate storage of process water that is discharged from the tub. A controller (3) is designed to convey the water from the tub into the tank and to transports the water from the tank return to the tub in a separate cleaning step. A water treatment device (9) has an electrolysis cell comprising a diamond electrode for treating the water to be stored in the tank. The controller is designed to treat the water before and/or during its storage in the tank by the water treatment device. |
